I'm on iTunes
One of the other passions in my life is composing music. Well, I produced a self composed and performed CD years ago. And recently I thought it would be fun to upload it for iTunes.
In addition to my passions about Smalltalk, software development, and board games (eurogames), I also used to spend a lot of time composing music. I produced most of the music on this album back in the early 90's. The music is mostly New Age and some Light Jazz. There's even an orchestral piece that I'm proud of in there.
Check it out: Mood of the Moon
The music has been heard in a public environment more than once before this. I used to co-chair the MIDI SIG in Cincinnati, Ohio with my friend Bill Gwynne. We did that for years. There were about a dozen active members of the SIG. We were mostly self composers and we used to put on an annual show -- we'd haul everyone's home studios onto the stage and then take turns firing off computer sequence controlled music from each composer. My music was also recorded and played for several years as "home buying" background music at the annual Homerama Home Show -- a showcase for high-end homes for sale in Cincinnati.
My studio is no longer what it used to be. I've sold off a lot of equipment and no longer have anything more than a spare bedroom for the equipment I still have. However, I do occasionally visit the keyboards and work out some new creative stuff.
